Who will still be performing in the year 2050?

Many of us under the age of 25 or even 35 have not experienced what it’s like to see live music with bands that have been performing since our childhood. Not too long ago, childhood was filled with bands such as the Goo Goo Dolls, the Rolling Stones, Chicago, Journey, Foreigner, and many more. All of these bands are still performing with some lead singers being in their seventies. The real question is, who will be the Rolling Stones of our generation?

In today’s scene, the hip-hop and rap era seems to be taking over. However, most artists fade in-and-out other than big names such as Drake, Post Malone, Kanye West, and Nicki Minaj to name a few. On the flip side, country stars seem to come in faster than any other genre. Some that have been surfacing and gaining major popularity include names like Kane Brown, Chris Stapleton, Luke Combs, and Dan + Shay.

With so many new faces coming to the music scene it’s hard to tell who will stay for the long run or who will be a one-hit wonder. Nobody truly expects people like Taylor Swift to be performing when she’s 50 years old.

Will icons such a Beyoncé and Lady Gaga be around for the long run? Truthfully, maybe a few here and there will stay around. In today’s world, the media spotlight is getting bigger and bigger with the growth of agents such as social media and technology. All the fame might be too much for these types of performers, constantly being watched by fans to see when they’ll produce more music.

With all of this being said, you can make any kind of bet you want. In the end, you’ll have to wait another 15 to 20 years to see who kept their fame running.
