An Update on R. Kelly and Allegations

Asia Arce, Entertainment Editor

Since Surviving R. Kelly was released, many have called for Kelly to be arrested and put on trial. Last weekend, the singer was arrested last Friday facing 10 new counts of criminal sexual abuse. On February 22, 2018, Kelly turned his own self into Chicago police. He posted a $100,000 bail and appeared in court to plead not guilty once again. If convicted, Kelly could face decades behind bars for sexual assault towards minors. Many are also trying to get those in the singer’s entourage to be held accountable for these actions as well. Many who knew Kelly knew what he did, however, they either stayed quiet or decided to help him lure younger girls. Not everyone is on the side of wanting Kelly convicted. Om Facebook, there is a group that goes by the name of “R. KELLY’S SINGLE LADIES”. Those in this group, with over 11,000 members, believe Kelly to be single and also helped to pay Kelly’s bail.
