Nipsey Hussle Honored by Hartford
April 10, 2019
Late rapper, Nipsey Hussle’s, legacy lives on and has made its way to Connecticut. Located at the skate park in downtown Hartford, just above I-64, is a mural of the rapper himself. Painted by local artist, Corey Pane, the mural is to honor much more than just Hussle’s musical achievements. “The thing is, with Nipsey, it’s not just his music. Most celebrities, they just stick to the art form. He always gave knowledge,” said Humfrey Getfield, a Hartford firefighter who stopped by the mural early Thursday afternoon. Since being painted, the mural has been visited by hundreds of fans. A vigil was held last weekend for the artist in which many gazed upon the mural while listening to his music being blasted from a nearby car.
