May 1, 2019
The reboot of Beverly Hills 90210 just got a lot of more sizzling and the summer better be ready for the heat of the Beverly Hills. Original cast member Shannen Doherty who was the only main cast member to signed on for the reboot announced late last week that she would be joining the reboot project of the show. Shannen Doherty will reprise her role as Brenda Walsh, the fun going, drama queen and fierce competitor of the group. The new series which is being set to air in the summer of 2019 will have a new title, known as BH90210. Doherty took to social media to express her returning to the show, in what to most people was a surprising announcement to many. Doherty is best known for her roles in Beverly Hills 90210 and for her role as Prue Halliwell in Charmed from 1998-2001. In 2015, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, however, in 2017 after many successful tests and operations she was in remission as of late 2017. Doherty has appeared in several local films and guest appearance on a few television shows, this could be her chance at a comeback since her remission of cancer. The reboot will also start original members Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling. At the time when the announcement was made about the show returning to the television screens, Doherty and Luke Perry were the only ones who hadn’t signed on at the time. Doherty didn’t have an opinion about joining and Perry was working on the set of the CW series Riverdale. In early March, Luke Perry died at the age of 52, after suffering from a massive stroke. The same day that Perry suffer the stroke, was the same day the reboot had made headlines after being pick-up for six episodes. BH90210 is scheduling to premiered in the summer of 2019, a date has yet to be announced, but one should be coming soon. The series will air on its original channel, the Fox Network.
