Women’s Volleyball loses their fifth game

UHart’s Women’s Volleyball has fallen to Holy Cross on Tuesday, dropping their record to 5-5. From the start of the first set, UHart was trailing behind the opposing team. Holy Cross received the first two kills by Clare Honan and Johnna Shamley.

UHart got their first kill, still within the first set, by Jenna Bridges. The Hawks ended their first set with 21 points while Holy Cross ended their first set with 25. The same momentum happened in the second set with Holy Cross once again taking the lead and winning the set. The Hawks were able to earn one point more, in total losing this 25-21. In the final set, UHart’s Women’s Volleyball were no match for the opposing team. Only earning 16 points to Holy Cross’ 25.

In comparing the teams, the only time UHart outscored Holy Cross is when it came to their blocks. UHart successfully had 6 blocks to Holy Cross’ 5. However, it was not enough for them to take home the win.

Their loss comes on the heels of freshman Maddie Lindsay receiving the honour as America East Rookie of the Week for the second time.

Returning home from the court of Holy Cross, the Hartford Hawks will host an invitational against Lafayette this Friday at 2 p.m.
