A research paper written by clinical instructor Ken Goldstein from the University of Hartford Barney School of Business was recently published in the nationally ranked law journal, Albany Law Journal of Science and Technology.
Goldstein currently teaches risk management and insurance courses and spent nearly twenty years in the insurance industry before switching to teaching.
He is also licensed to practice law in Connecticut and New York.
The published work provides a comprehensive investigation on cybersecurity measures and practices, namely the measures that can be considered and taken by higher education institutions in order to manage data security breaches and privacy losses.
The main preventative action addressed alludes to the discrepancy between limited financial resources in the Higher Ed space at large and the significance of ensuring a robust cybersecurity protocol.
Another subject that is touched upon is the review of both private and proprietary information and evaluation of privacy losses due to data breaches. long-term benefits of risk management, technology safeguards, and assurance of security integrity from the backing of partnerships.
