Men’s Basketball is back for a new season

The University of Hartford is currently getting ready to celebrate the men’s basketball team returning to campus and getting ready for their first game, schedule set for Tuesday, November 5th, 2019. The Hawks under head coach John Gallagher, will be looking to score higher and win more games during the 2019-2020 college basketball season.

The men’s basketball team in the last two years have proving dominance, as they come off having the best successful two-year stretch in the program’s 35-year Division 1 history. All under the authority of coach Gallagher. During the two-year stretch, the team has won 37 games that included a school record, 19 being in the 2017-2018 season.

Eight new players will join the roster for the 2019-2020 men’s basketball season. They will join the seven players from last season that brought the team ranking up from the previous year. The new players include three transfer students: Traci Carter from La Salle, Malik Ellison from Pittsburgh, and Key Sullivan also from La Salle. As freshman players, the new group will also bring and consist of Moses Flowers, PJ Henry and Miroslav Stafl as they bring the new vibes to the University of Hartford campus.

The team will start and kick-off their season with a bang, as they face in-state rivals Central Connecticut, visiting them across the way. In addition, The Hawks two days later will welcome Winthrop to the University of Hartford’s campus, as they will be preparing to play one of the first games of the season at Chase Arena at Reich Family Pavilion at 7:00 pm.

With a scheduling kick-off event to start the home games, as November gets underway through the current season of fall. This season is already unpredictable, at the men’s basketball team was predicted in a recent poll to come in sixth overall for the America East for the 2019-2020 season.
