Over the past year, there has been a hilarious viral trend where groups of friends have entered themselves in serious AAU basketball tournaments donning white T-shirts with Sharpied on numbers to mess around and record the process for the audience’s enjoyment. Although these stunts are funny and create great content, they have nothing on the stunt the so-called “Bishop Sycamore Centurions” pulled this August. In a televised game on ESPN, the well-known football powerhouse IMG Academy took on the supposed elite Bishop Sycamore football program. There were a few issues, though, most notably that Bishop Sycamore does not seem to be a real school. Following the 58-0 rinsing, it has been pointed out that the Ohio-based school that supposedly is a member of a Texas athletic conference doesn’t even have a campus. Even after a little investigating, it became evident that many players who took the field in front of the ESPN crews already graduated from high school. These combined factors should make everyone question how they even got on IMGs schedule or national TV.
