Netflix Making Multiple Movies with Addison Rae After Deal Struck Between Influencer and Streaming Giant
September 15, 2021
Future buzz is in the cards for Netflix as the streaming service has inked a deal with none other than TikTok phenomenon Addison Rae.
The 20-year-old Influencer recently appeared in a Netflix film entitled “He’s All That,” a gender-bent take on the 1999 original “She’s All That.” Although there was no shortage of jokes about the film circulating online, it proved to be a successful endeavor for all parties involved. The movie peaked at #1 on Netflix in 78 countries, and the company expects 55 million households to watch in its first month.
Rae is no stranger to large numbers of viewers. On TikTok, the star boasts over 83 million followers. However, this deal cements Rae stepping into the realm of traditional media while allowing Netflix to grab younger and more mobile eyes.
Viewers of Netflix and fans of Rae can rest assured that the mutual boosts in influence are not lost on either party.
Praising the opportunity to work with the streaming platform, Rae said, “Getting the opportunity to work with Netflix was such a ‘pinch-me’ moment and now to be able to continue the relationship is beyond my wildest dreams. I’m thrilled to be able to collaborate with this incredible team and am excited to develop projects while continuing to strengthen my skills as an actress.”
Naketha Mattocks, the Director of Family Film at Netflix, also said, “Addison Rae’s charm and promise is undeniable as evidenced by “He’s All That” and her already passionate fan base. We’re thrilled to be part of this next phase of her burgeoning career as an actress.”
No confirmations can be made yet on exactly how many movies are in this landmark deal or what the plots of the movies entail. Nevertheless, expect to see more Addison Rae on whatever device you stream Netflix’s content.
