Women’s Hoops Falls to Quinnipiac

Graduate Jada Lucas tallied a team-high 14 points as the Hawks fell to Quinnipiac, 113-64. Graduate Abby Streeter added 13 points, while junior Carmen Villalobos rounded out Hartford’s double-digit scorers with 11 points. The Hawks dip to 0-6 on the young season while the Bobcats improve to 3-3.
Quinnipiac opened the game on a 10-2 run to take the early advantage. The Hawks would start to fight back, cutting the deficit to four after back-to-back three-pointers from Streeter and freshman Najla Cecunjanin, but the Bobcats would utilize a 6-0 run to regain a 21-10 lead. In the second quarter, Quinnipiac would keep their momentum going to take a 58-25 advantage into the halftime break.
Lucas was on fire to start the second half, scoring eight points to start the third. However, the Bobcats extended their advantage to 39, taking an 87-45 lead into the fourth quarter. The deficit proved to be too much for the Hawks, as they fell 113-64.
Hartford wraps up a two-game road trip with a stop at Providence to face the Friars on Wednesday. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 pm. Providence holds a 6-1 advantage at home versus Hartford while also boasting a four-game winning streak against the Hawks.
