Women’s Soccer Sweep Chicago State
October 5, 2022
The Hartford Hawks Women’s Soccer team won both contests this past weekend against the Chicago State Cougars. Juliana Chiarella scored Game 1’s first goal and less than four minutes later, the Hawks would add a second. Imani Jenkins would score her 13th and 14th goals this season to give Hartford a 4-to-nothing victory.
Sunday’s contest was much closer. Makaela Montgomery-Williams would give the Hawks the lead 10 minutes into the game. Once again, Imani Jenkins would score another goal to extend the lead. However, just a minute later, the Cougars would pull one back. That would not last long as Ishani Sharma would score her second goal this season to restore the Hawks’ two-goal advantage. The game would end that way – improving Hartford’s record to 8-1-1.
Next up for the Hawks is an away game to former conference opponent, Vermont Catamounts. This game is set to take place on Wednesday, October 5th at 4 pm. The Catamounts are 3-6-2 this season. Kate Bossert leads the team with 11 points (5 goals, 1 assist.) Hartford will be looking to extend its unbeaten run to seven games.
