Calling All Poetry Lovers Out There!
April 12, 2023
If you’re into poetry and looking for a place to expand your understanding of some of the greatest within human history, you are in luck!
Starting on April 3rd, the event Worlds on Worlds: Excursions into Elizabethan Poetry and Beyond began, and will be continuing for three more sessions on April 10th and 17th from 2:00 P.M. – 3:30 P.M.
The event is sponsored by the University of Hartford’s President’s College and will be hosted by its founder, Humphrey Tonkin, a scholar of studies throughout the sixteenth century, and former President of UHART’s campus. The event takes an interest in sociolinguistics and language policy and behavior within our society.
These sessions will have a combined lecture and discussion approach based on well-known poets such as Shakespeare, Spenser, Marvell, and Donne, breaking down how each poet used commonplace images to explore the sublime.
This course will take place in the Harry Grey Jack Centers KF Room, located in the Harrison Libraries. Admission to participate in this seminar is priced at $60.
For further questioning, please email the President’s College at [email protected].
We hope to see you there!
