Leading up to the observation of Yom Kippur, the University of Hartford’s Jewish Life on Campus hosted a variety of events before and during the holiday.
They Kicked off the series with a Pre-Feast Fast on Sunday, September 24th from 5:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. The event took place at the Rohr Chabad House off of Bloomfield Avenue. Faculty and staff at the University were invited to join for a feast before the fasting period during Yom Kippur. Rest assured, they didn’t leave the festivities hungry!
The event was free of charge for all who chose to attend. Attendees were encouraged to notify Jewish Life in advance so that seating and service arrangements, could be properly managed.
For more in-depth information about this event, please contact Rabbi Yosef Kulek at his designated email: [email protected].
Following the Pre-Feast Fast, the Office of Jewish Life hosted worship services. The services were held at two locations:
- From 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. in the Wilde Auditorium.
- From 6:45 P.M. to 7:45 P.M. in the Harry Jack Gray Center, Conference Room B.
Services were conducted using non-denominational prayer books in a conservative style. All services were hosted by Rabbi Rachel Putterman, the Director of Trinity College’s Hillel, for Kol Nidre services, and Rabbi Yosef Kulek.
For further inquiries about these services, please contact Lisa Langsner at her designated email: [email protected].
We hope everybody who attended had a great time!
