The University of Hartford women’s soccer team had a successful week as they won both of their games. The Hawks easily defeated Eastern Nazarene College on Wednesday, October 4th, 9-0. Kathleen Brush scored two of Hartford’s eight goals, which were scored by eight different people. In the course of the whole ninety minutes of play, Hartford had a total of 44 shots while Eastern Nazarene only managed to get off 2.
On Saturday, October 7th, the team traveled to face the University of New England. The Hawks came out strong in the second half, scoring three goals to win the game by a score of 4-1 after the teams entered halftime tied at 1-1. Imani Jenkins scored two goals, extending her team’s season-long advantage to thirteen. Kathleen Brush scored once more, bringing her season total to nine.
With a four-game winning run and an 8-2 overall record, the women’s soccer team has been playing consistently strong soccer while outscoring opponents 26 to 5. The team has two more games this week, the first against CCC rival Curry College on October 10 and the second against Endicott College on October 14.
