If I had to guess, a majority of students haven’t had the chance to experience the private dining room (PDR) dinners hosted by our university’s dining services. This is most likely because of how quickly tickets sell out, paired with the fact that many students may not know what a PDR dinner is.
In essence, a PDR dinner offers students an opportunity to enjoy an experience akin to dining at an upscale restaurant right here on campus. These meals are typically held in the enchanting 1877 Club, nestled between the library and HJG. Picture this: you are presented with choices for a drink, appetizer, entree, and dessert. The options change every time, offering a variety of interesting and delectable appetizers, entrees ranging from succulent steaks to the freshest seafood, and whimsical desserts. In all my experiences with PDR dinners, I can vouch that the food has been nothing short of extraordinary.
Beyond the exceptional quality of the food, what makes these dinners truly special is that they allow us to savor a delightful restaurant experience without the hefty price tag. With just a meal swipe, you can immerse yourself in culinary excellence right here on campus. It’s an opportunity that every student should relish, as it offers a delightful change of pace and a taste of the finer side of campus life.
I highly recommend following the UHartDining Instagram page and keeping a close eye on the monthly calendar of food events posted in various dining locations on campus. Registration typically opens a few days before a scheduled dinner, so staying vigilant is essential. Trust me, you don’t want to miss out on this remarkable dining experience.
