As a consequence of their two-game split over the weekend road trip, the Hartford Wolf Pack are currently ranked second in the Atlantic Division. The Lehigh Valley Phantoms defeated the Wolf Pack 5–4 in overtime in the opening game. Ben Harpur gave Hartford a strong start in the opening period with his first goal of the year. But in the second half, Lehigh Valley scored three goals in a row to take a 3-1 lead. The Wolf Pack returned with a vengeance, scoring three goals in a row from Ryder Korczak, Jake Leschyshyn, and Matt Rempe—all of whom scored their first goals of the year. Abruptly, the Phantoms tied the game, forcing overtime, where Lehigh Valley eventually won over Hartford by scoring again.
But in the second game, the Wolf Pack made a comeback, defeating the Utica Comets 3-2. The Comets took the lead in the first period, but Mac Hollowell’s goal for Hartford soon knotted the score. Zach Berzolla helped the Wolf Pack score again in the second period, but Utica equalized the score once more. When the third period arrived, Adam Edström gave the Wolf Pack the lead for good with his third goal of the year, securing the win. Dylan Garand, the goalie for Hartford, made 31 saves to help win. The Hartford Wolf Pack will play the Bridgeport Islanders at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 10th.
