For the 2023–24 season, the University of Hartford Women’s Lacrosse team will have a new head coach. Following the resignation of Jen Nardi, who is leaving the program to return to her family in New York, Libby Morrison was named the team’s new head coach. For the last three seasons, Morrison has served as the Hawks’ assistant coach. The Hawks have broken 11 single-season records, thanks in large part to her leadership. The culmination of all these records would be one of Hartford’s most prosperous seasons in recent memory. Morrison worked as Trinity College’s assistant coach before joining the Hartford coaching staff, so he was very close to the University of Hartford. Throughout her time at Trinity, she had a significant role in the day-to-day management of the field hockey and lacrosse teams, contributing to the development of 11 All-Conference, 8 All-Region, and 4 All-American players.
She played both field hockey and lacrosse at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), where she was a standout two-way player. She became the first female athlete to ever win four All-American awards from the Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). She set several division and school records during her four years of play while also contributing to the division’s lowest-scoring defense. Morrison enters a program that is in the process of being developed. She adds expertise and experience to the Division III lacrosse scene that no other coach could match due to her caliber, talent, and experience.
