This past Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game by a score of 17-10 to send them to the Super Bowl for the second straight year.
The Chiefs scored the first points of the game with a touchdown on their own opening possession after forcing Baltimore to a 3 and out on the opening drive. The Chiefs led 17–7 at the half, as the Ravens had no response in the first half. Baltimore made changes in the second half as the defense kept the Chiefs to zero points, but the offense was unable to find a rhythm. Additionally, the Ravens were plagued by the turnover bug at the worst possible time, which ultimately resulted in a Kansas City victory.
Patrick Mahomes completed 30 of his 39 throws for 241 yards and a score, helping the Chiefs. Travis Kelce scored a touchdown and gained 116 yards on 11 receptions. Isiah Pacheco, a running back, also found the end zone. Lamar Jackson completed 20 out of 37 throws for 272 yards and a touchdown for the Ravens. In addition, he ran 54 yards. In addition, he fumbled the strip-sack and threw the game-winning interception. Zay Flowers had five catches for 115 yards and a touchdown, but he also committed a crucial error when he mishandled the ball and gave it away at the one-yard line.
The Chiefs will face the San Francisco 49ers in a rematch of Super Bowl 54 in Las Vegas on Sunday, February 11th.
