Former White House speechwriter Sarah Hurwitz will be the guest speaker this coming week on Tuesday, April 2, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. She will give a stirring speech about the value of words and how they shape the way we talk about social and political issues in our society.
Between 2009 and 2017, Sarah Hurwitz was President Barack Obama’s principal speechwriter for both of his tenure. Along with working closely with the former First Lady Michelle Obama to write highly praised speeches, Sara also accompanied President Obama on his travels across multiple nations as he made stirring speeches on a variety of social concerns that were surfacing at the time.
This seminar is open to all students and faculty at the University and will take place in Hillyer Hall, in the Auerbach Auditorium.
