This past week, the University of Hartford women’s lacrosse team played two games, winning one and losing the other, putting the team’s record currently at 4-6.
On April 3rd, the women defeated Nichols College by a score of 16-10. After a back-and-forth first quarter where both teams scored five times, Hartford pulled away the last three quarters, outscoring their opponent 11-5 to seal the win.
Madison Olmstead led the team with five goals and had two assists as well. Meghan Smith had three goals of her own, while Lily Belle Baker and Lenaijah Ferguson each had two. Hanna Ramsey had 11 saves in goal, keeping Nichols out of it.
In the next game on April 6th, the team lost to Endicott by a score of 20-4. 15 of Endicott’s 20 points came in the first half and the Hawks were unable to bounce back from it. Meghan Smith had another three-goal game, while Laurel Mcintosh scored the team’s other goal.
The women’s lacrosse team has two more games this week. The first is on April 10th and the second is on April 13th, as they have two CCC matches against Wentworth Institute of Technology and the University of New England.
