The University of Hartford Softball team extended their current winning streak to five games after sweeping both double-headers this past weekend. The team’s record currently sits at 17-6-1.
On April 13th, the Hawks took on Endicott College. Game one was won by a score of 4-1. Then in game two, the team won by a score of 5-2. A four run fourth inning from the Hawks put the game out of reach. Olivia Wolk and Sydney Matz each had two hits to lead the offense while Matz had two RBIs. Alexis Sealey was dominant on the mound, going six innings, allowing four hits, one unearned run, walked none and struck out one to get her 5th win of the season.
On April 14th, The Hawks defeated the University of New England in both games. Game one was won by a score of 8-0 in five innings. Mara Sczecienki, Adelie Beebe, Sydney Matz, and Sarah Serrano all had two hits a piece. Sczecienski and Beebe each had two RBIs. The team also stole four bases. Carly Mayhood went the distance, allowing only four hits and striking out eight as she got her 7th win of the season. Game two of the double-header was won by a score of 3-0.
The softball team is now 9-1 in CCC play, as this coming week the team has eight more games over four double-headers as they look to continue the winning streak.
