The University of Hartford is gearing up for an unforgettable evening of fun and celebration as HEAT (Hartford Events and Activities Team) partners with the Queer Student Union (QSU) for the highly anticipated 2nd Annual Disco Inferno. Set to take place on Friday, October 4th, at 7 PM in the GSU North and South Café, this event promises to be a night filled with excitement, creativity, and community spirit.
Doors open at 7 PM, welcoming all students and their guests to an immersive experience designed to foster connection and joy. The evening will kick off with a vibrant atmosphere featuring two photobooth options: a dynamic 360 video booth for capturing the perfect moment, and a charming backdrop setup complete with a bathtub—ideal for those unforgettable snapshots.
Attendees will be treated to an array of delicious hors d’oeuvres, with a menu that includes boneless wings, mozzarella sticks, pretzel bites, pigs in a blanket, and a delightful selection of cupcakes. With plenty of food to go around, guests can indulge in their favorite snacks while mingling and enjoying the lively ambiance.
The entertainment begins at 7:30 PM, showcasing a lineup of fabulous performances that will light up the evening. The event will be emceed by the fabulous Xiomarie Labeija, whose charisma and flair promise to keep the energy high throughout the night. Performances will feature a diverse group of drag artists, including Tito Midnight, Miz Destiny Nations, Chloe Cloaca, and Giri Spades, each bringing their unique style and artistry to the stage.
After the performances, the celebration continues as students hit the dance floor, which will be illuminated by vibrant LED lights. This is the perfect opportunity to let loose and dance the night away in a welcoming environment. Additionally, attendees will have the chance to interact with the performers after their shows, making the experience even more memorable.
One important aspect of the event is the encouragement for attendees to tip the performers. While entry is free, guests are urged to bring cash to show appreciation for the hard work and talent of the artists. For those unfamiliar with etiquette at such events, QSU will be posting a guide this Monday.
There’s no strict dress code for Disco Inferno, but attendees are encouraged to wear whatever makes them feel the most themselves. For those looking to embrace the theme, showing up in a disco-inspired outfit could earn extra kudos from the social media coordinator!
Photography will be a key component of the event, with images captured throughout the night used for marketing materials by HEAT, QSU, and the University. Students who have any questions or need accommodations can reach out via email at [email protected].
For further inquiries, QSU will post a comprehensive FAQ on their Instagram story on Monday, October 1st, and is open to direct messages for any additional concerns.
Disco Inferno is not just an event; it’s a celebration of community, creativity, and inclusivity. Join HEAT and QSU on October 4th for a night that promises to be unforgettable!
