While filming episode two, we kept the ball rolling with our “Smack or Wack” system. The Commons was offering an Asian-themed cuisine prominently featuring their made-to-order stir fry and Szechuan beef with jasmine rice. While I enjoyed the stir fry, the beef was just a little too salty and didn’t quite hit the mark. I recommend the stir fry with beef, edamame, baby corn, snow peas, and teriyaki sauce. As for the Szechuan beef, the rice was good, I suppose. Overall, I gave the dishes an 8 and a 6, a smack and a wack, respectively. The general consensus was similar, although it seemed that more people were enjoying the Szechuan beef than I would have predicted. There were definitely more smacks than wacks this week. It seems the ratings are trending upward. We’ll see if that continues in week 3.
