Last Wednesday, Women’s Basketball had a truly memorable night. The Hawks put up 71 points in a decisive victory over Suffolk, clinched a birth in the Conference of New England (CNE) Playoffs, and helped their coach record her 350th career win.
With a final score of 71-56, the Hawks were able to hold on to an early lead and keep the game out of reach for Suffolk. The Hawks held a 64-40 lead over the Rams heading into the fourth quarter, and despite Suffolk’s efforts to narrow the deficit, the game was never in reach for them.
Regarding the victory and her 350th win milestone, Head Coach Polly Thomason made sure to highlight her players and assistants. “This 350th win means a lot, it means I have had a lot of great staff, really great players in my career, and just overall really blessed.” She also expressed happiness at the Hawks clinching a playoff berth. “Our goal all along was to head to the conference tournament and I am really proud of this team’s hard work to get to compete and be able to play our best basketball.”
Fans of UHart Basketball should stay tuned for the playoffs and show their appreciation for Coach Thomason. Hopefully, her already impressive win total increases when the postseason begins.
