On October 23rd, RedTail Records hosted their first Live and Loud of the semester, an evening packed with incredible student talent, high energy, and community spirit. The showcase featured live performances from three of the label’s standout artists, each bringing their own unique sound and personality to the stage.
The night kicked off with Antwone Garder, opening with his electrifying stage presence and incredible voice. His high-energy covers, including hits by Michael Jackson, had the audience dancing, clapping, and singing along from start to finish. Gus Cook kept the momentum going with a set full of pop and folk covers, showcasing his warm vocals and natural charisma. His engaging performance style drew the audience in, and he even jumped into the crowd to dance with everyone. Closing out the night was Gabi, whose captivating vocals and emotional delivery brought a perfect balance of energy and intimacy to the finale. Her set included both well-loved favorites and an original song that highlighted her songwriting talent and authenticity, leaving the audience in awe.
In between two of the performances, the spotlight shifted from the stage to the audience for a costume contest that brought an extra layer of Halloween spirit to the night. A handful of attendees showed off their creativity with costumes ranging from classic favorites to pop culture icons; the volume of applause from the audience determined the winners. Standout costumes included a group of Star Wars characters, a chillingly accurate Jennifer Check, and even a convincing mime, who committed fully to the act (and won the overall prize).
Throughout the night, the audience’s enthusiasm never wavered, cheering, clapping, and singing along to every chorus. The atmosphere was electric, filled with excitement and appreciation for the performers and the creative community that RedTail Records continues to foster. Keep your eyes peeled for the next Live and Loud event to enjoy some amazing live music from the UHart community!
