Update on Jussie Smollett’s Alleged Attack

Hot water is the likes for Empire star Jussie Smollett. The 36-year-old actor who is a singer, actor, activist and best known for his role as Jamal Lyon on FOX television series Empire, is facing more criticism, after his alleged attack just weeks ago in a Chicago neighborhood.

In a recent turn of events, new evidence has shifted the focus of the investigation, multiple police agencies and media outlets have reported that Smollett may have staged the attack in the alleged twist. Authorities want to question Smollett immediately among the claims the attack was staged, however, Smollett has yet to be doing a follow-up interview with authorities. At the moment Smollett is not being considered a suspect, but prosecutors and law enforcement agencies are seeking an interview with Smollett regarding the individuals who were brought into questioning who Smollett has had a previous relationship before.

As of Tuesday, multiple media outlets had reported allegations that the show television show Empire is cutting scenes that have to do with Smollett’s involvement after Executive producers claimed that Smollett will still be featured in upcoming episodes.

Jussie Smollett is one of the main characters of the series, so depending on the outcome of the investigation, the show may change the writing of the scenes, however, details are still yet to be announced regarding the scenes and the script when Smollett is a concern.
