University of Hartford Interim Athletic Director, Maria Feeley, announced that Morgan Valley has resigned as the head coach of the women’s basketball team. Coach Valley will be returning to her Alma Mater, the University of Connecticut, to take on an assistant coaching role with the Huskies.

In her two seasons at the helm, Valley helped to stabilize and rebuild our women’s basketball team. The program was depleted by transfers and graduation, but she did everything that she could to put the program back on track. “I was not planning on leaving Hartford until I received the call from UConn,” said Valley. “I will forever be grateful to the University of Hartford, which will always have a special place in my heart.”

As a three-time NCAA women’s basketball National Champion, Coach Valley brought incredible knowledge and experience to this program. She also noted that the women’s basketball program and its student-athletes are in great hands under the leadership of the remaining staff.

From all of us here at The Informer, we thank Coach Valley for all of her hard work and dedication she put into the program. While it is sad to see her go, we hope for nothing but success with the Huskies.
