Billionaire Elon Musk and Canadian singer Grimes have decided to call their relationship quits they know how to. The eccentric pair was together for three years with many ups and downs in the public eye.  

Speaking on the split, Musk said, “We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently and are on great terms. It’s mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or travelling overseas and her work is primarily in LA. She’s staying with me now and Baby X is in the adjacent room.”  

Meanwhile, Grimes joked in an email to Page Six, “I’ll be colonizing [one of Jupiter’s moons] Europa separately from Elon for the lesbian space commune.” 

It is no secret that both Grimes and Musk lead hectic lives. Musk is currently the head of Tesla and SpaceX and has amassed nearly $200 billion, making him the second richest person on Earth. In addition to a music career, Grimes will now be a judge on “Alter Ego,” a new competition show for Fox. 

Despite their hectic schedules, the two of them will still be raising their now one-year-old son named X Æ A-Xii. The billionaire and singer were responsible for many memes when their child was born with much of the internet left surprised by the name they chose. Even now, their relationship received a strong dose of both jokes and criticism online.  

A user responded to a TikTok Grimes posted, wondering why she was dating someone “who is literally destroying the planet and humanity.” Additionally, while Musk is known for wild tweets, Grimes has admitted that he is “very immature on Twitter.”  

In the wake of the news of their split, one user tweeted, “i can’t believe elon musk and grimes were together for just three years with the damage they did to this site it felt like forever.”  

The SpaceX leader has also had a history of marriages before his latest relationship. He has five sons with Justine Wilson, an author from Canada. Musk also had two marriages to actress Talulah Riley of “Westworld” fame.
