Updating Personal Information on Campus

Updating Personal Information on Campus

Maddie Gill, Managing Editor

The University has recently announced that students are now able to personalize their profile on the various online platforms to better their experience on campus. While students will have to log in to StarRez, Self-Service, Blackboard and Compass to update that information separately, it is allowing students to go by their preferred first name and gender affirming pronouns.

This is important in making students feel more comfortable, and to keep professors and others on campus informed. In addition to updating personal information online, in order to request an official name change, students will need to download and fill out a request form by contacting the Center For Student Success. Also, by contacting the Hawk ID office, students may update the name on their ID and receive a new one at no additional cost for replacement.

You can also contact the student Registrar department at [email protected] to change your email name to your preferred one. By updating this information, your preferred name and pronouns will automatically show on all school rosters for classes and activities! While the University has been striving to make sure students are being addressed by their correct name and pronouns over the years, this now makes the information official on school records.
