Hartford Women’s Soccer extended its unbeaten run this past weekend. The Hawks defeated the Wesleyan Cardinals after a close contest with the final score of 3-2 in Middletown, Connecticut.

The Hawks went up 1-0 after an early goal by junior forward, Imani Jenkins. However, Wesleyan responded just a minute after. The Cardinals would score a second goal to take the lead going into halftime.

The second half did not disappoint. The Hawks would continue to disrupt Wesleyan’s chemistry as they sought after an equalizing goal. That goal would come in the 54th minute as Makaela Montgomery-Williams would tie the game. Both Jenkins and Stone were credited with an assist. Both teams were determined to grab a late goal, but it was the Hawks who managed to score again. Imani Jenkins would score the game-winner with less than seven minutes to go. That goalbrought Jenkin’s total up to 11 for the year.

Next up for Hartford is an away game on Monday, September 19. The Hawks will travel to New Hampshire to take on NE-10-member, Franklin Pierce University. The game is scheduled to start at 7pm. Monday marks the first meeting all-time against Franklin Pierce. The Hawks are currently 4-1 on the road and look to add on another win.
