The Hartford Hawks Women’s Soccer team will host the Chicago State Cougars this Friday and Sunday. This will mark the first-ever meeting between both schools. The Cougars, who were members of the WAC from 2013/14 to 2021, are currently independent.

The Hawks are unbeaten in the last five games with their only loss this season coming on the road versus St. Francis Brooklyn. Their opponents are coming off consecutive wins, outscoring both opponents 7-4. Delaney Kenney leads the team in points with 4, followed by Mary Perez Aguire with 2.

Imani Jenkins leads Hartford with 23 points this season. Makaela Montgomery-Williams is second with 6 points and Ishani Sharma is right behind with 5. In goal, Abigail McCarthy remains number 1. The sophomore has given up only nine goals in eight matches, including two clean sheet performances.

Hartford is outscoring its opponents despite taking fewer shots. The Hawks average 2.0 goals per game while Chicago State is averaging 0.92.

Friday’s game is set to start at 5 pm and the second and final game of the homestand for the Hawks will be on Sunday at 2 pm. Both contests will be played at Al-Marzook field, home of the Hartford Hawks.
