As a huge fan of the Star Wars franchise, there was always one question I could never answer and that question is, “Who is the best character in all of Star Wars?”
However, after binge-watching all of the Star Wars franchise, I have concluded that Obi-Wan Kenobi is the best character in Star Wars. His crazy quotes, his duels in the movies, and his balance in The Force are some of the reasons he’s the best character.
No offense to Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, but some of Kenobi’s quotes were a lot better. Comical phrases like “Hello There” and “So uncivilized” are so iconic, and we can’t forget about Star Wars: The Clone Wars series and his comical uses of sarcasm.
In addition, the amount of action Kenobi gets and how good he is with a lightsaber, always has me excited. Yes, other lightsaber wielders – Yoda, Darth Maul, and Darth Vader- have some awesome duels, but nothing compares to Obi-Wan’s duels.
Obi-Wan’s duels against Darth Maul are amazing; his duels with General Grievous, Count Dooku, and Ventress are super fun to watch as well and Kenobi’s duel with Darth Vader in the final episode of the Kenobi Disney Plus series is incredible. And with all the action, Kenobi keeps balance in The Force to do unimaginable things.
Even being tempted by the dark side of the force and losing Anakin Skywalker to the dark side, didn’t change Obi-Wan. He stayed his incredible self and still fought the good fight. This was a hard decision as there are so many great Star Wars characters. Yoda is wise and funny, Chewbacca is very loveable, the droids R2-D2 and BB-8 are cute, Darth Vader is insanely cool, and all the other Star Wars characters bring a lot to the table. But for me, it’s Obi-Wan with his amazing quotes, his role in the movies, and his balance in The Force that are why he’s the best character in the Star Wars franchise.
