Newman Club Pizza and Game Night

Newman Club Pizza and Game Night

Lillian Wonderly, Entertainment Editor

The Newman Club is hosting a pizza and game night on Friday, April 21 from 6-9 PM in the Catholic Campus Ministry Center across from the main entrance to campus (207 Bloomfield Ave). The Newman Club is a registered student organization at the University of Hartford. Their goal is to promote and uphold the Catholic faith at the University and in the Greater Hartford community. They also strive to enlighten fellow students in the truth of God as presented through the ideals of the Holy Roman Catholic Church. Members of the club organize social events, Spiritual events, social justice activities, and more. They also have a music group called the Newman Choristers. If you’re interested in being a singer or instrumentalist contact [email protected]. There are also opportunities to be involved in liturgy (Sunday Mass, Holy Day Mass, and Evening Prayer Services).

The Catholic Campus Ministry strives to help students, faculty, and staff live and grow in their faith. In addition to the opportunities listed above, they also offer small faith groups, scripture study, retreats, sacraments, and service and travel abroad opportunities. Although all the above programs follow the Catholic tradition, students of all faiths are welcome to participate in any of the programs. They also host campus-wide events like painting the anchor in front of the admissions building, apple picking in the fall, and earth day egg hunts. If you’re interested in community service trips, the Newman Club volunteers at the assisted living facility called The Little Sisters of the Poor. If you have any questions about the pizza and game night event or the Newman Club email Anthony at [email protected].
