“Addiction is just a way of trying to get at something else. Something bigger. Call it transcendence if you want, but it’s a rat in a maze. We all want the same thing. We all have this hole. The thing you want offers relief, but it’s a trap.”– Tess Callahan with one of our favorite drug addiction recovery quotes.

As a part of the University of Hartford’s “Keep Hawks Healthy!” Initiative, the Dean of Students committee will be hosting alcohol and cannabis awareness vendors in the main entrance of the Gengras Student Union (GSU) Cafeteria. Educating students on the dangers heavy use of cannabis and alcohol pose on their future health.

Students will also be given the chance to complete personal assessments of their individual alcohol and cannabis use. They will then be able to meet with members of the Dean of Students committee to discuss their results and come up with action plans to mediate their substance usage to a fair and low amount.

This event will be held on April 3rd, from 11:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.

For further inquiry on this event please email David Stender at his designated email: [email protected].

We at the Informer encourage you to use and consume any form of substance responsibly! We hope to see you there.
