If you haven’t heard about them before, I’m sure you’re familiar now with the Savannah Bananas! If not, “Jackson Olson” definitely ought to be familiar to you. Jackson Olson, a 2020 graduate of the University of Hartford, is a dedicated member of the baseball team’s wacky antics, playing third base for them. Olson returned home to Connecticut during the Savannah Bananas Tour last month, now a famed Tiktok star and Savannah Bananas player.
Even though a lot has changed, Olson still seems to cherish the University of Hartford, where he spent many years playing baseball and where he grew up. He graduated from the University of Hartford as the fourth student-athlete in the school’s history to be designated an America East Baseball Scholar-Athlete, and he was an outstanding athlete as well. His overall GPA was an astonishing 3.82. The America East Presidential Scholar-Athlete Award was also given to him. With all of this taken into account, there is no question that he has merited receiving our school’s “Alumni Spotlight” award.
In light of Jackson Olson’s return to Hartford following his meteoric rise to fame, there is still a potential he may do so in the future. If so, we are thrilled for the opportunity to introduce more people to this outstanding alumnus.
