The University of Hartford is excited to continue its growing partnership with the Special Olympics. Special Olympics hosts numerous events across Connecticut, and we have the privilege to be a part of it! They are actively seeking volunteers from the University of Hartford for some exciting events coming up in November.
On Saturday, November 18th, and Sunday, November 19th, the Special Olympics will host its Unified Sports Holiday Classic at locations in East Haven and Hamden, Connecticut. This is a perfect opportunity to get involved as a volunteer. Volunteers can choose to work either full-day or half-day shifts for bowling or basketball competitions.
Volunteers interested in full-day shifts will be expected to help from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the days and locations they have signed up for. For those interested in bowling, you will be serving as lane assistants at AMF Circle Lanes in East Haven, Connecticut (525 Main Street, East Haven, CT). If you prefer basketball, you will be serving as scorekeepers or scoreboard operators at Quinnipiac University (275 Mt. Carmel Ave., Hamden, CT).
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference and support the Special Olympics. For more information and to sign up as a volunteer, please contact Katie York at [email protected].
Join us in this wonderful cause and help make the Special Olympics Unified Sports Holiday Classic a success.
