This past week began the Black Student Union’s (BSU) annual Valentine’s Day Sale, where members of our Black and African community on campus will be selling unbeatable treats ranging from friend Oreos and irresistible brownies.
“Surprise your special someone or treat yourself to a delightful experience that captures the essence of love? Hurry; the sale is available for a limited time only. Make this Valentine’s Day extra sweet!” Kiara Opokou of the BSU said this in her recent UNotes advertisement.
The event has been in progress since February 5th and 6th and will continue into the upcoming week starting Friday, February 9th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the University Commons.
They will also be there on February 13th as well.
If you have more questions about this bake sale, please contact Kiara Opokou at [email protected].
Next Friday, February 16th, from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., the University of Hartford’s Dramatis Personae, a known theater group on campus, will be performing the Vagina Monologues.
Tickets will go on sale for $8 for all university students; for any non-UHART student attending this event, prices will remain at $12.
Any proceeds will be charitably given to My Sister’s Place, an organization driven to end homelessness for women and improve the quality of life for their families.
This performance will take place in Hillyer Hall’s Auerbach Auditorium and the performance will begin at 8:00 p.m.
If you have more questions about this event, please reach out to Alyssa Archambault at [email protected].
We hope you are welcome to attend this week’s events!
