From November 13 to 15, the Hartford Art School (HAS) community will participate in a downtown Hartford art festival. Participants include Brigitte Reyes Rosario, an illustration student; Robert Calafiore, Associate Dean of Administration and Finance; along with alumni and other HAS members like Tao LaBossiere, Carter Davis, Claudine Purdue, Mya Terry, and Sophie Groenstein. Their artwork will be displayed in a digital mural, and Katherine Owens, a UHart College of Arts and Sciences professor, will also be featured.
The digital mural will be open to the public each evening from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Frontier Communications building on 111 Trumbull Street, starting with a kickoff celebration at Bushnell Park’s carousel at 5 p.m. hosted by RiseUP, with food trucks and live music every night.
Artists from various places, including local, state, and international artists from countries like France, China, and Australia, will be showcased in this RiseUP for the Arts project.
RiseUP suggests that the best views of the projection on the Frontier Communications building are from the pond and carousel areas in Bushnell Park. Other great spots can be found throughout Hartford’s west side, including Interstate 84.
