Have a sweet tooth? Feeling like you deserve a sweet treat? Well, we hope you’re hungry because the Women+ For Change organization is hosting a bake sale on Thursday, March 27th, 2025, from 12:30 to 2:00pm. All proceeds will be donated in support of The Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence so make sure you tell all of your friends and come on down to show your support!
This event supports a very important cause that you too could make an impact on. For a little background information, the Women+ For Change is an intersectional student-led organization that aims to promote social justice, and provide a safe space for education, advocacy, and discussion among people of all gender identities, sexualities, and ethnicities, and ages. They conduct discussions regarding reproductive justice, body image, feminism, sexuality, race, gender, and global issues. Their mission is to raise awareness of these issues, advocate for change, and bring attention to the problems people face on a daily basis. Women+ For Change amplifies survivor stories, influences public opinion and perception of women, and pressures policymakers to take action. This organization allows for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence to speak up, and Women For Change gives these individuals a platform to be seen and heard.
Similarly to Women+ For Change, The Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence aims to end domestic violence for good and shed light on the problem. They strive to change the system that greatly impacts the lives of survivors, as well as improve Connecticut’s response to domestic violence. Both of these organizations provide a platform for victims and survivors to speak out and break the silence in regards to these difficult topics.
