SGA Flag Raising & Legacy Unveiling Ceremony
On October 3rd, The Student Government Association (SGA) will be unveiling and raising the SGA flag, designed by a fellow UHart Student as part of the Design the Legacy competition. This new flag symbolizes the unity, leadership, and the lasting impact of the student body at the University of Hartford. All students are invited to join SGA members for this special occasion, taking place from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at the Hursey Center North Patio. The event will feature a formal unveiling, a special performance, and the opportunity to connect with the vibrant SGA community.
Hawktoberfest
Mark your calendars for Hawktoberfest, the biggest event of the Fall semester! Join us on October 4th from 12-5pm at Alumni Plaza for an annual celebration packed with fun, food, and entertainment. Enjoy live performances by student musicians, the UHart Cheer Team, Dance Team, and Hartattack A Cappella. Get in on the action with activities like mini golf, carnival games, a bungee trampoline, and a photobooth. Don’t miss out and come celebrate with us at Hawktoberfest!
Halloweentown presented by CSA
The Commuter Student Association (CSA) is kicking off the Halloween season with Halloweentown on October 4th! From 7:00 to 9:30 PM, join fellow students on the GSU Lawn for a festive outdoor movie night. In addition to the screening, CSA will host a costume contest, so come dressed in your most creative, spooky, or funny attire for a chance to win a prize. Enjoy popcorn, candy, and the opportunity to connect with students in a fun, seasonal atmosphere!
HEAT Food Truck Festival
Join HEAT for the annual Food Truck Festival on October 5th, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM in the Konover F Lot! This popular fall tradition brings the campus community together for an afternoon of great food, live music, and student connection. Enjoy live performances by talented student musicians while choosing from a selection of three savory food trucks and one dessert food truck, offering a variety of delicious options. Each student will receive one free food ticket, available on a first come, first serve basis, so be sure to arrive early to celebrate our UHart community.
Aerie Open Mic
The editors of Aerie, UHart’s Literary magazine, invite you to an Open Mic Night on October 6th at 6:00 PM at the Poe Fire Pit. Join us for an evening of creativity, community, and self-expression as students share original writing, poetry, and more. Whether you’re performing or simply there to listen and support, all are welcome to attend. Hot cocoa and cookies will be available to purchase, with all proceeds supporting the printing of this year’s edition of Aerie. Come celebrate the voices of UHart’s creative community!
