Dancing with the Stars has been officially renewed on the ABC network for the Fall cycle of 2019. After the disaster of season twenty-seven, plague with voting errors and the unlikely winner of radio host Bobby Bones winning, fans were calling for the show to be overhauled, or worst canceled if they couldn’t fix the problems. The series is set to premiere its twenty-eight season in September, with a brand new cast. There is speculation that the hosts, judges, professional dancers and other cast members are all set for a new makeover, with a number of cast members set to be replaced. Season twenty-seven There is also speculation that the Junior version of the show will be canceled after disappointing ratings led to a decline in fan fair from the spinoff series, not even talking about the main series. Dancing with the Stars will not premiere for a spring season in 2019, but is set to return in the fall of 2019. There had been speculation that the upcoming season would be the last one, however, those appeared just to be rumors, as many of the shows current professional dancers stated that the show can run for as long as it wants, some also argue that having the show come on once a year can be an advantage, but also a disadvantage. Only time will tell what happens when ratings and popular are concern. The format of the show consists of a celebrity paired with a professional dancer. Each couple performs predetermined dances and competes against the others for judges’ points and audience votes. The couple receiving the lowest combined total of judges’ points and audience votes is eliminated each week until only the champion dance pair remains. There have been a total of 309 celebrities have appeared in the twenty-seven seasons of the series. For each season, the celebrities are paired with a professional partner who instructs them in the various dances each week and competes alongside them in the televised competition. A total of forty-five professional partners have appeared alongside celebrities, some for only one season, mostly in the earliest seasons. 2016, a New York Times of the 50 TV shows with the most Facebook Likes found that unlike So You Think You Can Dance, which is generally more of a city show, Dancing with the Stars is most popular in the countryside. It also has a higher share of likes from viewers aged 65 and up than any other show on any network. The upcoming 2019 season should be an awesome season, with a lot of power in dances, and a star-studding class.
