The drought for the University of Hartford’s Men’s Lacrosse team has continued, as the Hawks have gone 0-2 in the past two games. Hartford first faced off on the road against Gordon College, losing in a close game 11-10 on March 16th. Both teams fought the entire game, with each team scoring at least 2 goals in every quarter of the game. However, Gordon edged it out in the end. The leading scorer for the Fighting Scots was Marco Fernandez, who scored a staggering five goals. Jackson Wright and Caden Lake also scored double-digit goals for Gordon. On the Hartford side, their leading scorers were Nicholas Forgione and Ethan Hunt, who both scored three goals a piece. Griffin Weller, Aidan Kemp, and Jake Ojert also scored for the Hawks in the loss.
Hartford continued their losing ways in the following game, facing Vassar College on their home turf of Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium on March 20th. The final score was 11-8. Vassar jumped on the Hawks early, with a score of 9-3 after two quarters. Hartford rallied back to score five goals in the next two quarters, however the deficit was too severe. The Brewers’ leading scorer was Ian Zumpano, who scored four goals in the win. Troy Santise also scored three goals for Vassar in the win. The Hawks’s leading scorer was Aidan Ezra who scored three goals. Hartford will look to get back in the win column against Nichols College at home on April 3rd.
