The Modern Vandals and Jake Kulak will perform live at Hartford’s Arch Street Tavern on Thursday, December 5. Among the top up-and-coming performers from Connecticut will be Home by Ten and Kat Lacombe from the University of Hartford. The show is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. and end at 12 a.m. The cost of tickets is $12.79 for pre-orders on Eventbrite and $15 for in-person purchases. The event is for those aged 21 and up.
Students from Hartt are doing this event for Professor Mehmet Dede’s seminar on the business of live music. Students in this course get an understanding of the nuances of managing, producing, and promoting live music events, ranging from stadium tours to local performances. Students are given the task of promoting music in the real world by scouting for talent, reserving a space, advertising concerts, and handling money.
