This week’s female athlete of the week award goes to Olivia Rougeau of the University of Hartford’s indoor track & field team. This is in large part because of her performance this past weekend in the America East Championship. During this event, Rougeau earned eighth place laurels in the long jump event, posing a length of 5.62m.

However, this did not simply mark eighth place for the junior. Rougeau’s long jump score also marked a new program record for the event that had been held for nine years. Also, among the New Hampshire native’s accomplishments in the event, Rougeau placed fourth in the high jump, with an impressive height of 1.65m.

Olivia will surely prove to be an excellent athlete and asset to the team as the season continues.
