This week’s female athlete of the week award goes to Haleemot Adeyanju of the University of Hartford’s Track & Field team. This comes after the Newark, NJ., native took home third place at the Minutemen Invitational for the 800m. This freshman came so close, within a second, of breaking the school record placing a time of 2:14.85 for the event. In addition to Adeyanju coming so close to breaking a school record, she also took home third-place honors in the event. This is very impressive considering that there were 27 competitors that came that day. Over her next few years at the University, Adeyanju will almost certainly break a school record.
