This week’s female athlete of the week is Julianna Kocenski.  Julianna is a freshman, hailing from North Arlington, N.J.  She is a rookie for the Hawks softball team.  This past week, Julianna Kocenski played a key role for the Hawks in winning their first America East series since 2013.  In the first matchup of the series, Julianna pitched a complete game shutout which is no small feat, especially for a freshman.  In game two, Kocenski came in as a relief pitcher to help the Hawks secure the second win and the series.  Throughout the two contests, Julianna pitched 10 full innings in which she struck out five, and allowed no runs with only five hits.  Julianna continues to impress this season, leading all Hartford pitchers with 66 strikeouts so far.
