The comedy series Last Man Standing, created by Jack Burditt airing on the Fox network, has been renewed for an eighth season set to air during the 2019-2020 television season. Last Man Standing is an American television sitcom starring Tim Allen as a senior employee of a sporting goods store in Denver, Colorado, who is a married father of three daughters and a grandfather to his oldest daughter’s son, Boyd. Despite being ABC’s second-highest rated sitcom for the 2016-2017 season, it was revealed in the spring of 2017 that the network had declined to renew production of Last Man Standing for a seventh season. Media outlets reported that ABC was unwilling to cover the production costs for a seventh season on behalf of 20th Century Fox Television, reasons were not cited. However, during the summer of 2018, the Fox network renewed the series for a seventh seasons, which premiered in September of 2018 and drew over almost ten million viewers and rank number one in both age demographics for its first show, since be cancelled by the ABC network. The show has produced fair to modest numbers, viewership has since decline since the first show of the revived, however, compared to a number of other shows being broadcast across the spectrum of television, it ranks good and is one of the top comedy shows of the 2018-2019 television series. Since the announcement last week of Last Man Standing being renewed for an eighth series, the series set to air in a new time slot, other than its current slot on Friday nights, with a total number of twenty-two episodes to be during its duration. Aside from Tim Allen, the series also stars Nancy Travis, Amanda Fuller, Molly Ephraim, Christoph Sanders, Kaitlyn Fever and legendary actor Hector Elizondo. The remaining episodes air on Fridays at 8:00 pm on Fox, with the show coming back in the fall, viewers won’t have to worried about not seeing their favorite comedy show of the season, as Fox has signed an agreement to air WWE SmackDown on Friday nights beginning in fall 2019. Last Man Standing is just one of the many shows to be renewed on Fox, and one of the first comedy shows to be renewed across the five major networks aside from Mom on CBS and Modern Family on ABC.
