The Informer’s female athlete of the week is sophomore Maria Loza.  Maria plays for the women’s golf team and had an extraordinary performance at the MAAC championship, becoming just the second competitor in program history to win an individual conference championship.  Her performance carried the women’s golf team to a tie for fifth in the tournament as well.  Loza showed great poise overcoming a three-stroke deficit in the final day of play to come back and win the title.  Coming off her rookie year in 2018 in which she was named MAAC Rookie of the Year, Maria has continued to exceed expectations.  Follow her journey tomorrow, April 26, as she wraps up her play as an individual in the NCAA regional tournament.
