The University of Hartford men’s soccer team is just as strong as ever, being on the road for the last couple of days and racking-up wins in the process. The Hawks wrap up their three game road trip against Northeastern on Tuesday, Oct. 1. A non-conference match up that kick-off at 6 p.m. and resulted in yet another win for the Hawks battling Northeastern, in-which went into a double overtime and saw some incredible plays and passes from the UHART team.

Junior player Rasmus Karlsson did not just scored his second goal of the season, but scored it in just the 4th minute of the game, right at the opening. Senior goalkeeper Jimmy Slayton, made several saves during the game, denying any chance of Northeastern scoring. Even with two double overtime, neither could score a goal, with the end resulted in both teams calling a draw in a 1-1 final score on Tuesday Night. In addition to that, the men’s soccer team has announced also upcoming changes in the schedule, citing due to the mosquito-borne Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EE) Virus, safety precautions have gone into effect immediately.

Games will start much earlier than usual, with most games taking place in the afternoon to prevent having evening games in-which most of the mosquitoes come out during evening games. Games for the beginning of October and possibly further than that are subject to time changes throughout, additional time changes will be announced if indeed necessary.

The Hawks return back to UHART, their home on Saturday, October 5th, for an America East Clash tournament against UMBC at Al-Marzook Field. Kick-off was set for the evening, however, due to scheduling conflicts the game will start approximately 2:00 pm that afternoon.

Can the Hawks bring home another win? We will just have to wait and see.
