This past week ABC announced the celebrity cast for season 29 and wow, will it be an interesting season.

This season will feature three of the most iconic stars from Netflix in 2020. The first star being cheerleading coach at Navarro, Monica Aldama who is featured in the show “CHEER”. The next Netflix star is the very controversial Carole Baskin from everyone’s favourite quarantine show to binge, “Tiger King”. The only thing that could possibly make it more interesting is if Joe Exotic himself were to compete against Baskin for the Mirrorball Trophy. Another Netflix star joining the cast is Chrishell Stause from “Selling Sunset” a reality show based on the Oppenheim Groups high-priced real estate.

The next contestant hails from the small Canadian town of Leduc, Alberta, her claim to fame was being one of the most well-liked contestants on “The Bachelor”, it’s Kaitlyn Bristowe. If the plot twist from the bachelor don’t keep you on your toes this next contestants show “Catfish” will, Nev Schulman is one of two hosts on the ever so entertaining show “Catfish”, hopefully he has the dance moves to keep up and won’t have to catfish the judges to survive.

It wouldn’t be dancing with the stars without its athlete contestants, this season it’s retired NFL and Superbowl champion Vernon Davis. Former NBA star Charles Oakley who was also featured on Netflix’s “Last Dance” will also be making an appearance. The final athlete making the cast this season is Johnny Weir who is a former U.S. Olympic figure skater and now an on-air commentator for the sport.

Actors and actresses on this season include Disney channel actress Skai Jackson, film Actress Anne Heche, “One Day at a Time” star Justina Machado. Emmy award winner Jeannie Mai who hosts “The Real” will also be dancing this season.  Adding to the actor pool film actor Jesse Metcalfe will also be featured in season 29.

The two final contestants really bring back the late 1990’s and early 2000’s vibes. Rapper Nelly will be there this season to “Move That Body.”  The final contestant on this season is Backstreet Boy AJ McLean, hopefully he will be able to use his dancing skills from the boy band and apply that to the world of ballroom dance.

Nevertheless, this will be a historic and entertaining season. The new season starts on Monday September 14th at 8:00 pm EST.
